TENIKWA Wildlife Awareness Centre in Plettenberg Bay offers a truly unique Wildcat Experience. Tenikwa is a small friendly facility which offers short guided tours to see the Lesser Cats of South Africa.
Founders Len and Mandy gave up their corporate lives to rehabilitate injured and abandoned wild animals. Injured animals and birds from the Garden Route, are brought to the centre by the community and Cape Nature Conservation Services.
At Tenikwa these animals are treated, cared for, and when able to fend for themselves, they are returned to the wild.
On the Wild Cat Experience, you are guaranteed to see Cheetah, African Wild Cat, the rare Black Footed Cat, Serval and the charismatic Caracal.
The Tenikwa Meerkat Meander gives a glimpse into the fascinating lives of suricates, tortoises and other semi-desert animals of South Africa.
