Orange River Wine Cellars were established on the 23th of December 1965, with Upington Cellar, harvesting grapes for the first time in 1968. The harvest period stretches over a period of 4 months from December to April. Orange River Wine cellars are the biggest Cooperative Cellar in South Africa and the second largest in the world.
