KRUGER HOUSE MUSEUM VIDEO - HISTORICAL MUSEUM / CULTURAL TOURISM - PRETORIA - GAUTENG - SOUTH AFRICA
Kruger House Museum is a frequently visited heritage site comprising the original Kruger House, built in 1883, two exhibition halls, namely the Zuid-Afrikaanse Republiek Hall and Exile Hall, and President Kruger's railway coach. The house is the original home of legendary South African statesman Paul Kruger, elected president of the then Zuid-Afrikaanse Republiek in 1883. He devoted his life to the freedom of his people and the independence of the republic. This was one of the first homes in Tswane with electric light, and was also equipped with a telephone. Beautifully showcased is a model of the Dutch light-armoured deck ship, HMS De Gelderland - sent by Queen Wilhelmina from the Netherlands to facilitate Kruger's exile. Not to be missed is Kruger’s stately railway carriage, in which he traveled around the Zuid-Afrikaanse Republiek.
