The Ring Ox Wagon Lodge - Professor Erik Holm purchased land on the Hartebeespoort Dam in the 1960's and began collecting and restoring the original ox wagons from all over South Africa. It is the culmination of this passion and loving restoration which we see now in The Ring Ox Wagon Lodge: about 20 years ago, he arranged his collection in a ring-like laager and converted the laager into accommodation. In this remarkably unique lodge, you dine in an original ox wagon and moreover, sleep in an ox wagon which constitutes the main bedroom of a more conventional bungalow.
