LAKE ST BERNARD RESORT VIDEO - ACCOMMODATION / SELF CATERING / TROUT FISHING - SOUTHERN DRAKENSBERG - KWA ZULU NATAL - SOUTH AFRICA
Lake St Bernard, situated in the Southern Drakensberg, calls themselves big fish country, and is the ultimate location for trout fishermen. Lake St Bernard is a 68 hectare lake on a privately owned farm that is home to not only the biggest trout, but also many species of buck and other wildlife. Lake St. Bernard is regularly stocked with 8 inch and 1 kg trout. With a catch and release policy actively encouraged, fishermen visiting this fair locale are often rewarded with sizeable trophy trout. Apart from trout fishing, hiking trails through the mountains, wonderful rock art and wild Proteas, as well as mountain biking and 4 x 4 trails to the Lesotho border present themselves. Swimming at the bamboo pools, along with stunning picnic spots aplenty, renders this bird watcher’s paradise a haven of outdoor activities. Lake St. Bernard has self contained accommodation for everyone. The seven sleeper “Thatch Chalet on the Water” sports stunning mountain and lake views, while the two new luxury “Lakeside Cottages” each sleep eight visitors. A visit to Lake St. Bernard is a visit to paradise.
