AFRICA HOUSE HOTEL ZANZIBAR - TANZANIA TRAVEL VIDEOS - FREE AFRICA TRAVEL TV

Africa House Hotel Zanzibar Travel Video - Some 150 years ago, an Oracle bestowed this blessing on the building which is now Africa House Hotel. Originally a flamboyant Omani slave traders home, it has worn many different facades over the years. Guest house to the Royal family, The English Club, a State owned hotel and eventually a derelict shell used by young tourists on the hippy trail, it was rescued and restored to its current grandeur by an Omani investor. The refurbishment was effected with all due sensitivity to this grand old building’s history, and one senses the splendour of its past with every pace taken in its passages and every step on its stairs. The view of an African sunset from the terrace at Africa House Hotel, is hailed by Lonely Planet as one of the fifty things you have to do before you die. It is only once you’ve experienced the magic of this spectacle, that you understand the magnitude of an accolade that ranks in the top 50 of a lifetime. Instinctively you know that the spirit of this grand old hotel was the key ingredient to the cocktail that rendered a sunset, a life experience.
